On December 2, students, alumni, faculty, and associates gathered to celebrate student success at the Honors Program’s 11th annual reception. The event, held at the Country Club of Waterbury, honored several students who had reached milestones in the Honors Program.

The provost, academic deans, and assistant academic deans had the opportunity to present certificates, commencement stoles, and embossed padfolios to October 2022 graduate Eliza Edwards and certificates and embossed padfolios to main campus student Anthony Neves.

Edwards earned Honors Program Academic Distinction after completing her bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems online, and Neves, a Communication and Media Studies major, recently earned Honors Program Recognition.

As part of the evening’s festivities, ten students who had completed the first milestone in the Honors Program were presented with their official Honors Program fleece. These students recently finished nine credits in honors courses, earning a B- or higher in each.

Several associates from various departments across the university were also given fleeces in appreciation for their support of the honors program and the students who participate in it.

The reception also provided an opportunity for students to network with faculty and associates, discuss their experiences in the Honors Program, and hear alumnus Melvin Vann III, ’18, reflect on how his four years in the Honors Program shaped his life and career.
