What is Union Public Service Commission UPSC?

UPSC is the reputed exam of the country. It is one of the toughest exams. The full form of UPSC is the Union Public Service Commission. The UPSC exam is called the Civil Service Exam. Functions of UPSC

The functions of the Union Public Service Commission is as follows:-

• Direct recruitment by selection through interviews.
• Conduct examinations for appointment to the services of the Union.
• Appointment of officers on promotion / deputation / absorption.
• Framing and amendment of Recruitment Rules for various services and posts under the Government.
• Disciplinary cases relating to different Civil Services.
• Advising the Government on any matter referred to the Commission by the President of India.

Eligibility criteria of UPSC

• For the IAS, IPS, and IFS services, students should be citizens of India.
• For the IRS and other services, a candidate must be :
• A citizen of India
• a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

What are the three stages of the UPSC Civil Service Examination?

There are three stages of the UPSC Civil Services Examination. All three stages are equally important. The three stages are:-

• Prelims Exam: Prelims Test Series 2022

• Mains Exam- after clearing the Prelims exam, the candidate can appear for the Mains exam,
• Interview- the interview is a final selection round. only  Candidates who cleared the Prelims and Mains can appear in the Interview round.
